Description
Public Art Proposals 92
The three projects shown here were designed on the back of the Outdoor Art Drive-In 86, Interface 88, and my research into urban redevelopment strategies in the late ’80s.
It was my intention to activate the urban space by inserting moving and responsive imagery.
Video Walls – Petrie Tce – embedded video screens with ocean waves rolling in and animated cars twisting and turning along the streetscape.
The Gift of Giving- Given Tce – molded 3d video screen in the shape of a hand emerging from the pavement holding an illuminated bunch of flowers. Video screening a melange of television offerings. This work was anticipating a future where flexible screens would become a reality.
The Swimmer – Central Plaza – embedded video screen in the floor of Central Plaza with swimmer moving through the space.
